Kinda Killed My Buzz

Recently I went to the health department to get a copy of my birth certificate. One of the women at the ISDOH pulled me into an office to tell me, “Usually, it doesn’t take so long to process this, but since you’re adopted, it takes longer.”

I must have looked punched… she covered her mouth and said, “You didn’t know?”

So, ya… thanks, Mom.

    @ Gwen Smith:

Ya… can’t say I’m surprised though. Mom has a long history of deception. Something I’ve just accepted as part of her personality.

fyi y’all, I know I didn’t post a lot of context. Basically my Mom has a long history of deceit, so I’m not all that shocked. If you look at old (pretransition)pictures of me and my dad’s side of the family, then pics of my mom and dad, you can see that I stick out like a sore thumb. It’s not something I hadn’t already thought about. I was shocked, but not surprised… if that makes any sense.
